Handsell collects nothing about you.

Short version: Handsell has no account and no servers. Your boards, books, and photos are stored on your device. There are no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, so the App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected. Searching for a cover sends only the words you type (or a scanned ISBN) to open book-data services so they can return a cover image — nothing that identifies you.

1. What Handsell stores, and where

Everything you create — curations (boards), the books in them, titles and authors you enter, cover images you fetch or capture, and your look/layout choices — is stored locally on your device using Apple’s on-device storage. Handsell has no user accounts and operates no servers of its own, so this content is never uploaded to us.

2. Camera and photos

Handsell asks for camera access only when you choose to scan a book’s ISBN barcode or capture a photo of a cover. Image processing (barcode reading, cropping, and any text recognition for a captured quote) happens on your device. Captured images are saved only into your local curations; they are not sent to us. If you pick an image from your photo library, it is used the same way — locally.

3. Looking up book covers

When you search for a book or scan an ISBN, Handsell sends your query (the text you typed or the scanned ISBN) to third-party open book-data services — primarily Google Books, with Open Library as a fallback — to retrieve matching titles and cover images. These requests contain only your search terms and standard network metadata (such as your IP address, visible to any web request); they do not include your name, an account, or a device identifier from us. Your use of those services is governed by their own privacy policies. Handsell does not log or store your searches anywhere off-device.

4. Purchases

Handsell Pro is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase. Apple processes the transaction and shares only the subscription/entitlement status needed to unlock features. We never see your payment details. Restoring or managing a purchase is handled by Apple via your Apple ID.

5. No analytics, ads, or tracking

Handsell contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA). We do not build a profile of you and do not sell or share personal data. There is nothing to opt out of because nothing is collected.

6. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Because Handsell holds no personal data about you on any server, there is nothing for us to access, export, or delete on your behalf. To remove all data, delete your curations in the app or remove the app from your device. For any question about this policy, email support@vibeland.app.

7. Children

Handsell is rated 4+ and suitable for all ages, but is not directed at children under 13 (16 in the EU) and collects no data server-side from anyone.

8. Security

On-device data is protected by iOS data protection (encrypted at rest while the device is locked). Network requests for cover images use encrypted HTTPS connections. Keep your device passcode strong and your Apple ID secured with two-factor authentication.
